With Denver Comic Con this weekend, I’m reminded of some awesome memories that I’ve had there. \u00a0The first time I met Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar (that’s a whole other story) was at Denver. \u00a0I bought my first original comic book pages from Ty Templeton at Denver (which started a whole other obsession). \u00a0I started collecting animation cels at Denver. \u00a0I’ve met amazing people that have become good friends even if I only see them once or twice a year. \u00a0As we approach another Denver Comic Con, this year is different. \u00a0It’s the first con that GTN gets to cover as media. \u00a0We get to sit down with cool people and talk about what they are doing. \u00a0We are going to write blogs, record pods, eat and sleep coverage. \u00a0We get to rub shoulders with other media members who are more seasoned than us so I’m looking forward to picking some brains.<\/p>\n
Personally, I’m beyond excited to finally finish my Justice League animation cel autograph collection. \u00a0I’ve waited two years to get Michael Rosenbaum and it’s finally happening (barring last minute cancellations). \u00a0Luke Cage and Iron Fist autographs should happen as well as some with the Stranger Things kids. \u00a0Either way, it’s going to be a great time that supports a great cause. \u00a0I’m going to be beyond exhausted by Sunday, but that’s what con adrenaline is for!<\/p>\n
If you are on the fence about attending, don’t be. \u00a0If you aren’t from the Denver area (we aren’t) and are looking for a destination con, this one warrants serious consideration. \u00a0There is just a different vibe there compared to some other shows. \u00a0Sure it still gets “con crazy” at times, but I’ve never not had a great time there. \u00a0From the awesome cosplay, yearly craft brew (I AM BREWT!) to a good section of the con dedicated to artists of all kinds, DCC is truly a con apart.<\/p>\n
